Could you tell me your experiences with gabapentin,
at what dosage, side effects, possitive effects, ...?

I started at 300mgs x 3. I couldn't deal with it on top of the other prescribed drugs, so now I have bottles upon bottles of 100mgs capsules, 2 per day (as needed).

The higher dose didn't stabilize my mood much and made me feel as if I was in a dream land. Weird. Benzodiazepines never did that to me, but gabapentin sure did.

I'll rarely take 3+ at night to sleep when I need to. Even then, the next day I feel "off," somehow.
Thanks for this!

I took it for about a year. To be honest it did absolutely no good or bad for me, it was just an extra pill my pdoc eventually discontinued. But different people react differently with different medications. I wish you better luck than I had.
Thanks for this!

I took for Prozac induced insomnia... it caused sore throats and extreme grogginess but helped with anxiety
Hated feeling sick and I only gained an extra hour sleep so my doc gave me trazadone instead

I have ptsd and bipolar. I take 400 mg neurontin before bed and it helps me sleep. If I run out of neurontin and clozapine for a few days I cannot sleep and become manic.

I had this nerve pain than ran from my neck to my shoulder so this doctor prescribed it for that pain. I would just take one before going to bed but stop taking it after a couple of weeks because I woke up a couple of times after going to bed and talking to my wife like I didn't know who she was. Must of been the pills because nothing like that ever happened before or since I stop taking them.

I take a version of gabapentin (extended release) called Gralise 1800 mg at night. I mostly take it for fibromyalgia, which it doesn't seem like it is helping sometimes, but there have been a couple times I have missed days, and it is definitely doing something for the pain. It also helps with my anxiety, not so much the sudden spikes, but more the underlying, constant feeling of agitation that I would have. I don't know if that helps at all, so ya.

I take 400mg three times a day. It helps with my anxiety, though not as much as an AP does. Don't know why.

I take up to 1500 mg of gabapentin daily for effective treatment of anxiety and can offset my medication costs by selling my urine as a sterile spectroscopy solvent to university chemistry labs.

I guess it helps a little with anxiety. I am prescribed it for nerve pain due to feet nerve issues. I am only taking for the anti-seizure benefits. I still get anxiety even with that and klonopin and remeron.

I was at 600mg and it caused the worse aches in my face. Worse than any migraine I have had. Tapering to 300 was extraordinarily painful, and I am on that.

If you tolerate it, I think you can take up to 3 grams a day which probably takes a significant chunk out of anxiety.

I started taking it for nerve pain. I found some relief with as little as 300 mg but went up to 300 mg 3x a day, which really helped it a lot. It had the added benefit of helping with my migraines, PTSD symptoms and anxiety, and sleeping at night. It, however, affected my memory. It affected my work performance. Even on the lower dose I had issues with recall, absent mindedness, and what I would call "brain fog", not so technical but just felt out of it. I had to come off , which is a shame because it really helped with the pain. I am now trying Lyrica and so far I am not experiencing the same side effects. ***knock on wood****

I find it really helpful with anxiety. In fact I choose my PRN dose of it over my PRN klonopin most of the time.

I was on it once before and couldn't tolerate it (sedation and zombie-fied) but that was at a pretty high dose. When I was IP in February they gave it to me 300-400 mg 3x/day and it helped a lot. After I came home I came down to 1200 mg at bedtime and then later 800 mg at bedtime because I am very sedated from my other meds. The goal is to get me off klonopin and rely entirely on gabapentin because it is so effective for me.

Klonopin has always been good for me and the resident in the hospital told me that gabapentin works on the same receptors.

I take it and I don't really have any side effects. It helps me feel calmer at doses higher than what I take right now. I take 300 mg at night now.

My psiquiatrist took my benzodiazepines and prescribed Gabapentin. I never understood why because the benzodiazepines work perfectly to my anxiety and I have been on it for more than 15!years. I take 2mg, at night. Sometimes I even take 1 mg. I don't like downers but they work.

Somebody has a similar experience.
