Hi everyone.
Last time I saw my psychiatrist he wanted me to stop taking Valium (because I was complaining it didn't work for my anxiety & I was worried about dependence as I've been anxious & paranoid daily) & he prescribed me Neulactil 2.5mg tablets (1-2 tablets when required). I'm on a cocktail of other meds due to Bipolar 1, agitation & extreme highs and lows (seroquel XR 400mgs daily, epilim 200mga 3 times a day, 300mgs seroquel at night & Campral 333mgs 2 tabs 3 times a day for alcohol use.
I'v been on seroquel for ages now so I'm used to vivid dreams & nightmares but the Neulactil has made them so much worse... It's almost hard to distinguish what's a dream/nightmare & what's reality since I've been on Neulactil. When I'm fully awake I realise it's not reality but it's quiet frightening as I have at least 3 of these "dreams"per night & wake up after all of them.
Has anyone else experienced this While taking Neulactil ? Ive searches high and low and can't find any answers.
Also has anyone had any other awful side effects from this drug ? If so I'd really like to know... TIA

I am not at all familiar with Neulactil. I googled it and see that it is a type of antipsychotic. I hope someone here can offer more help than I can.

Hi Laurie , thanks for the info. I've searched far and wide but can't seem to find any rhyme or reason as to what my issue is. I go see my psychiatrist tomorrow so I'll let him know that I'm still struggling with severe paranoia & panic attacks & how this drug is just making everything worse. I'll post tomorrow with some more info

Just a quick update, saw my psych today. We've scrapped the Neulactil (& the seroquel XR) & I've started taking Latuda 40mg. He says it's a great drug for severe paranoia so I'll see how it all goes

Thanks guys, this is day 2 of Latuda for me. I'm still taking epilim 3 times a day & seroquel at night for bipolar disorder. They also prescribed me oxazepam for panic attacks, had some last night & found it very effective. Thanks for all your help
