I have a question maybe somebody could help me with. I am now taking .75 mg of risperidone, and i previously took 3mg then 2mg then 1mg. Those pills actually weighed the same as there dose in mg. I currently take 3 .25mg, and these pills weigh 1mg. The markings on the pill coincide with the correct dosage according to the manufacture, but weigh 1mg on a micro gram scale.
Has anybody heard of a pill actually weighing more than the actually dosage, where 75% of the pill is filler, and just a quarter is the active ingredient? I just don't want to take three times my dose. Thanks for any feedback

Pill size can be really strange. For example oxazepam 5 mg is twice as large as oxazepam 10 mg.
But if you're worried, consult your pharmacist. They'll know. |

I don't think pill weight correlates much with the weight of the active ingredient. I'm surprised your 1mg pill weighed exactly 1mg.
Inactive ingredients usually serve some purpose, but it wouldn't surprise me if there are some situations where they just add stuff to make the pill bigger. A milligram is an incredibly tiny weight. I think it would be difficult for a lot of people to even pick up a pill that only weighed 0.25mg. Plus pills normally have information stamped or engraved on them (I guess that's a requirement?) but there wouldn't be room for it if the pill was too tiny.

You must have a extreme micro scale to pick up 1 mg .
As mentioned pills have markings , best bet as your pharmacist.

All, and I do mean all, pills are like this. its impossible to get a pill that is only "medicine" as they all have fillers, binders, coatings, etc. |

Some innactive ingredients are added to allow slow release of the active ingredients
