I'm losing a lot of weight on Seroquel XR, and well, I was already underweight when I started it. I'm at 150mgs working up to 300.

Is this normal, or am I a freak of nature? Lol

I thought Seroquel was supposed to make you gain, not lose. That's what's confusing me.

I do have increased appette and increased thirst! Maybe it's because of the hunger that I'm eating healthier? I'm not sure.

Opinions? Has anyone else had this issue?

I guess consider yourself lucky, but not everyone gains weight on seroquel. In fact drugs.com lists weight gain at 1-10 percent for seroquel, so most people don't gain weight on it.

Not everyone gains weight. I'm on 600 mg, went to the doctor recently. I thought maybe I gained, but I didn't. I am on the low end of healthy on the BMI scale (although of course BMI is not an accurate measure for everyone). When I was in the 150 mg-300 mg range, I did go through a period of time where I actually lost some weight. Lamictal could have also accounted for this.

My pdoc told me ahead of time that not everyone gains. It's just a matter of being able to stay away from too many sweets and fatty foods since cravings can be intense for certain individuals. I haven't quite experienced this. I do notice a bit more of a craving on 600 mg, but I don't feel I constantly need to eat. I try to be mindful about my eating, regardless, but it hasn't really been too much of an adjustment. My goal is to exercise a little more though just to be healthier and maintain my weight, although it hasn't yet posed any issues.
