I take both wellbutrin and paroxetine at the same time together every morning, and have discovered an interaction between the two. The Wellbutrin slows down the metabolism of paroxetine. I take 20mg of paroxetine and 300 mg of wellbutrin. I have been taking them together for about a year with no problems or side effects. My doctor just prescribed them to me and told me nothing about interactions. Is there anybody else who takes there ssri with wellbutrin or another med that has this interaction? Thanks for any replies

It is very common that n SSRI is prescribed with Wellbutrin. If that combination is giving problems, another, such as Zoloft, Prozac, Celexa and so on, could be used as a substitute to paroxetine.

In terms of other meds that may be added, Psychcentral mentions the use of lithium, mirtazapine (Remeron), an atypical antipsychotic such as Abilify, Seroquel, Zyprexa or Risperdal, or a stimulant (if you are daring)
All of these are possibilities to help augment the Wellbutrin.

Thanks for the response. I am referring to the interacton between ssri's like paroxetine and wellbutrin. They metabolize using the same liver enzyme, and wellbutrin slows down the metabolism of paroxetine according to the interaction.I currently don't have any problems so far taking them at the same time together, so they are metabolized together, but with no problems so far.
So i am asking if others take meds at the same time that have an interaction with metabolism?

Tic tac go are you saying its daring to take a stimulant?
