Hi guys,
I'm a long time lurker, first time poster.

A little on my background:
Had initially started off with depression and was taking Prozac which was helping for about 2/3 years so stopped taking them.
Roll on two years later and started getting crippling anxiety for weeks on end. Afraid to leave the house, panic attacks every day for weeks etc.
My psych put me on Mirtazapine 15mg which increased to 30mg... Anxiety gone!!
Happy days!!
But now on the medication 3 months and I just feel meh, low mood, irritability, stress... Just not quite feeling like old happy go lucky self.

My question is is there anyone on here on Mirtazapine (which I'm happy enough to stick with as no anxiety) and taking anything else for increased mood... Or even if such a thing exists.

Sorry for the long post, hope I made sense
Thanks in advance for your replies also any feedback, suggestions welcome

Hi Lola_bugz. Welcome to Psych Central. Sorry you are in a tough phase the last couple months. This could be serious sign with irritability and stress so the best thing to do is ask the psych doctor what this may indicate the next adjustment could be.

For example, a friend has taken Mirtazapine and is bipolar. It helped them get out of depression but the pdoc took them off it when they started getting symptoms of hypomania the more they took the Mirtazapine. Do not act based on my comments, talk to your doc.

Thanks a mill for taking the time to reply.
I've no problems with mania, no bipolar symptoms at all in fact.
I had this discussion with him the last time, which is why I was put on the 30mg with no help. I've an appointment next week so will have a chat about my concerns then.
Thanks again

maybe add wellbutrin? remeron is sometimes used with another antidepressant. the combination of effexor+remeron has actually be studied a little bit (its apparently effective, especially for "treatment resistant depression").

I take 45mg Mirtazapine in combination with 300mg Wellbutrin XL and it works pretty good for depression. I am bipolar so I do take them with a mood stabilizer.

I take 30mg mirtazapine with 150mg Effexor XR.

It's... An interesting combo. I can't say it's working all that well for me, but it's better than being without anything. It's helping a little, at least!

I am on 45mg of Mirtazapine. 3 months on Mirtazapine but just 3 weeks on 45mg. I feel bipolar. One day is good the next is bad.

Don't know if it will help if I mix it with something else. My doctor is waiting for the increased dose to kick in before he adjusts the dose.
