I take 15 mg/day of Abilify, and it works great now, but I found it terribly difficult to get used to the first 4-5 months I was on it (also at 5 mg back then). It made me feel antsy and agitated, and also interfered with my sleep. I've talked to other people who had the same experience, and the side-effects eventually went away for those who stuck with it long enough.

When I went up to 15 mg, my pdoc had to prescribe an a.m. dose of Klonopin to help me over the rough spots... only had to take it a couple of weeks, then everything was fine. You might want to ask your pdoc if this is possible for you, or if you can take it at a different time of day that might cause fewer problems (maybe at bedtime, if you're not already experiencing sleep disruption?).

I was on Abilify for a two weeks and i began to experience moderate akathisia. I told my psychiatrist about this and he decided that it was not worth it to continue the medication and I stopped taking it at once.

Skittles, I take 25 mg & have been lucky to have no side effects (well, one major one--weight gain), but I do take Trazodone & klnopin to sleep at night. Abilify has helped a lot with the paranoid thoughts & delusions.--Suzy
