I have been taking Klonopin prn but I want to get it down to a couple of times per month or less. I feel I still need for car trips (have riding/driving anxiety), plane trips, and instances where I just have a meltdown. So maybe use it a couple of times per month. I find it is really not that effective for me.

So if I get off Klonopin, I would feel safe taking a sleeping med. I have been falling asleep easily but waking up at 1 and staying awake. I can usually go back to sleep between 5 and 7. This is sort of ruining my recovery as I am groggy and irritable during the day.

I took Ambien once and it made me weirdly suicidal. It was bizarre.

What are good sleep meds? You can see what else I am on in my signature.

Thanks for reading and for any advice.

gabapentin, lyrica, sonata, lunesta, maybe a benzodiazepine, like restoril, dalmane, or halcion.

I take Trazadone... I like it, as long as you can dedicate 8 hrs to sleep, you shouldn't feel groggy once your used to it. For some people 50mg is enough or even less... I take btwn 100 and 200mg.
