Could someone suggest a benzo that is helpful in staying asleep, uninterrupted all through the night. #sleep#maintenance#insomnia

Temazepam is often prescribed for sleep.

Yeah, temazepam is typically the one used.

However, non-benzo or 'Z' drugs such as zolpidem, zopiclone, eszopiclone and zaleplon are usually preferred.

Even with that said, both benzos and Z-drugs shouldn't be used in the long term.

Other options are antidepressants such as trazodone, or antipsychotics such as Seroquel.

yeah i read about z hypnotics too. between all of them, the Only one that is approved for long term use is Lunesta. Seroquel has stopped working for me. In the process of switching meds. narrowed it down to doxepin and lunesta. Also considering trazadone and amitriplyne.

not a benzo, but maybe ask your prescriber about trazodone. not addictive and great for sleep.
