This is just a quick question for anyone on Effexor or anyone who has ever been on Effexor.

Is nausea a common side effect? I started to get nauseous within 10 minutes of taking my first dose of Effexor (50mg), and it's lingered a bit all day.

I never had nausea when I took Effexor. I'm not prone to side effects though.

Sipping ginger ale can help. Also, 1/2 a tablet of non-drowsy Dramamine.
Thanks for this!

I had nausea from Effexor when I first started it, and whenever we increased my dose, but it always went away within a couple of weeks.

I'm on Effexor XR, 37.5 mg, and have not noticed nausea. I seem to have tiredness like an hour or so after I take it, but I take it at bedtime anyways so it's fine. I can't say I've noticed anything else negative.
