Every now and then, I will have a couple of drinks. I know that the best solution while on meds is to never drink though. However, for those of you who occasionally drink, what do you do when it comes to your PM meds?

Do you choose not to take them? Of course it's never good to skip meds, but I am thinking medication plus drinking can be more risky. I am especially concerned about Seroquel, so for those of you who are on it, I wonder what you do about this if you occasionally drink. It makes me wonder how many hours to wait before taking Seroquel, or if I should skip it all together on that same night. For instance, I had a couple of mixed drinks that were pretty strong and stopped at 7 PM. It's now nearly 11 PM, but I still question whether it's a bad idea to take it.

When the doctors warn against anything being used with meds, it is usually for safety against those who are very sensitive. I personally still drink but I will never take the meds and also drink heavily...

... which leads to my second point, which is that by drinking they are typically talking about heavy drinking. A few beers or glasses of wine is usually okay.

I don't drink alcohol, but if I did I would keep it really moderate and I would not skip meds.

I take my meds at lunchtime or shortly thereafter. That way, I don't have to worry "too much" about any interference.

I only drink occasionally, and when the occasion arises, its in moderation, I don't do piss drunk... And when I do, I rather skip my PM dosage.

My logic dictates that I've never suffered from missing / forgetting one dosage, but I'd rather not find out why there's a huge "do not drink" warning on my meds.

I always take my meds even if I've had a few drinks.
I've only had a bad interaction once, and that was when I'd had like 6 drinks.
So, I don't do that anymore...heh.

Maybe ask that question to your prescribing doctor or pharmacist? They'll be able to tell you what's best.

I always take my meds also. I might have a glass of wine with ice cubes in it. Rarely. People I know understand when I say "I can't". I've learned to drink diet soda or seltzer when needed.
