Different drugs work for different people. Seroquel 50 mg worked for me for about 9 months. Olanzapine (Zyprexa) and Clozapine (Clozaril) work better, but for olanzapine I needed a "normal" dose (at least 7,5 mg) and I'm not sure what lowest dose I need for clozapine, but clozapine requires weekly blood checks so doctors don't generally prescribe it "just" for sleeping.

I take Trazadone for sleep + Seroquel as needed in emergent insomnia cases.

I take Seroquel as a last resort if I cannot find rest/sleep.
I take Mirtazipine only on the nights where I don't have to wake up early or at a certain time the next morning.
I take Trazodone the rest of the nights anywhere between 50mg - 200mg.

Gabapentin did nothing for me.

I find remeron works almost as well as seroquel. Unfortunately remeron makes me manic so I take restoril.

My doctor doesn't like people being on seroquel for sleep, she says there are better/safer options. I am on propranolol (inderal) which is for anxiety but I use it when I need to relax and sleep, try to find something non addictive like trazadone or remeron or something like that.

No, definitely not. Too strong. More for use with mania in my book.

That conversion doesn't sound right to me I would think 7.5mg is equal to a higher dose of seroquel but I'm not a doctor.
