I have been taking Fluoxetine for almost two years. I started taking 10 mg, then like 5 months ago my doctor has increased it to 15 mg due to anxiety. I know the starting dose is at 20 mg and I have been thinking about making a suggestion to my doctor, but I forgot about it when I called in for a refill. But is there a huge difference between 15 mg to 20 mg?

I was sensitive to 5 mg increases in prozac. Like 30 was not enough and 40 was too much. So i had to take 35 for a long time, otherwise honestly the top of my head felt cold!

So i would say the answer to your question is, its personal! I realize im describing a bad side effect above, but i had to wait for that to go away before i could have the good main effect of the higher dose.

I didn't have any problems at regular dose increases. Keep in mind though I do have a super high tolerance to meds

I take 40 mg of fluoxetine and my doctor just increased it to 60 mg. I've had no negative side effects after a week of doing this.
