Hey everybody,
as I'm trying to figure sth out, I would love to get some information of those taking Bupropion/Wellbutrin, who had or still have an active (normal) digestion, meaning defecation 2 to 3 times a day (probably male). Did you experience effects from the medication on your digestion - especially constipation wise? If so, how long after the first pill did that occur? And did it go away again? Thanks much! |

I have those symptoms but I am on so many medications including wellbutrin it's hard to pinpoint which one causes it.

I tend to be constipated before adding Wellbutrin. The only noticeable change to my digestion is it tends to suppress my appetite somewhat.

I take bupropion - I sometimes find it gives me really bad acid reflux, especially if I don't take it with food. It's the only thing that's ever given me this problem - no food has ever done so.
I do get the occasional upset stomach, but it tends to be when I'm in a high state of anxiety. |

When I first started taking Bupropion (Welbutrin), my thirst increased. Being dehydrated can contribute to constipation. My cure: drink plenty of water eat lots of vegtables like unbreaded fried okra, kale, collards, brussel sprouts, etc....

Thanks for the response everyone!
So there was no decrease in defecation times per day? Anyone who's going 2 or 3 times a day and still does so with bupropion? ![]() |

Issues with other meds and digestion, but not related to welbutrin even after starting or all these decades later. Talk to your doctor as to recommendations.

There have been issues with other medications and causing problems with digestion, but I have not experienced it with wellbutrin/bupropion. Everyone is so different though in how the meds affect us. If there is a side effect causing a problem, talk to your doctor about recommendations to help with it. Best wishes.
