I was just put on new meds, Lexapro 20 mg for anxiety and depression and Zopiclone 7.5 mg for sleep, anyone else have any experience with these drugs and if so what are the side effects like and did they help you? Thanks again.

I take ambien 10 Mgs and it helps me sleep. I don't have any side effects from it. Just get a good nights sleep most of the time. Good luck.

Lexapro sent me manic but I am bipolar 1. Ambien wasn't bad just make sure you lay down as soon as you take it. If you miss your window to fall asleep and stay awake things get weird.

hi. i took zoplicone now and then back in the day. it was...ok. a little more effective for me than ambien, no big shakes. as with any 'z' hypnotic, do be aware that it can become less effective over time. some people need to gradually taper sleeping pills after long term use. for me, when ambien and sonata (another 'z' hypnotic...) stopped working, a switch to as-needed Restoril (temazepam) did the trick. i no longer require sleeping pills at this point, which is ideal.
im not sure, but i think 20mgs/lexapro is a kinda high starting dose. not trying to scare you. maybe that's why they gave you the zoplicone, too ((some people get insomnia early on in antidepressant treatment)) ? antidepressants are effective for a lot of people with anxiety. lexapro is easier to tolerate than many other antidepressants and sometimes works a bit faster for a subset of people. antidepressants --all-- carry adverse effects, which can be serious for some people. ssri drugs sometimes cause apathy, emotional numbing, lethargy, fatigue, anhedonia...but not always. some adverse effects, such as serotonin syndrome (rare, thankfully...) will probably require discontinuation. others might become less severe over time or respond to a different drug or the addition of another drug (adding wellbutrin for lethargy and apathy, for instance, seems to be a fairly common maneuver). if there's an obsessive component to your problems, ssri drugs can be particularly helpful. the success rates for anxiety and depression vary from study to study, but the ssri drugs have become fairly standard for ocd symptoms. i hope this helps. good luck! |

I'm currently on Lexapro and I don't really notice a difference in my anxiety, it's still there. Maybe I need a higher dose. I know I can't take it by itself because it makes me really manic so it's used as an add-on to my other medications.
