anyone had any bad experiences with temazepam. I can take xanax no problem but am allergic to klonipin and just got a scrpt for temazepam (restoril). I'm afraid to try it.

I like it. For me it is quite a gentle drug and helps me float to sleep.

What were you prescribed it for exactly?

I never knew Restoril was prescribed for anxiety until I read this: http://www.restoril.com/broch_unique.asp

Wow, have to definitely keep this in mind. Please keep us posted (or PM me) on how it works out for you (or doesn't).

Good luck,
Dee

took it for sleep for years w/o problem. worked well for a few years.

found it was more effective if used for sleep only instead of sleep AND anxiety....but that was more a pdoc issue of rx-ing benzos for the right job instead of trying to make one benzo work for every situation (panic, anxiety and sleep disturbances)

I take Temazepam every night to combat my insomnia. It enables me to sleep at least 4 consecutive hours. But I've only ever taken it for sleep issues. I take Xanax XR for anxiety.

I've been on Temazepam for about 3 years now. Never had any problems or negative side effects.

I suffer from bad panic attacks - more than 20 per day and use xanax in the day and have very bad night terrors all night long - 10 or more panic attacks per hour - i never sleep more than 5 minutes without waking in pure terrorl Doc said temazepam might help combo of night time panic attacks and insomnia.

See how the Temazepam works for you. You might ask about Prazosin too, which is sometimes used for PTSD nightmares.

Well, the first time I took it (unless I took a double dose?) I could hardly do anything in the morning, after I took it at night. I remember going into university on the bus having no idea where I was half the time, not recognising where I was. I remember being on the computer writing an email to my friend and being unable to focus and making the font bigger and bigger. I don't remember the rest of the day, but I suppose I must have got home ok (this was 4 years ago).

Maybe you are just very sensitive to it?

If i were you - and I am not a doc - i would just take a half of what is prescribed - you can always add, but you can't subtract ... get what I mean?

good luck temazepam
