Has anyone experienced severe muscle or tendon pain after having been on antidpressants (particularly SSRIs) after several years? Or after stopping completely? Is that a common side effect?

Yes, to my knowledge muscle pain can be a side effect (of after-effect) of many psych meds.

Yes, I literally developed fibromyalgia. It was awful. I had to see a pain specialist. After I withdrew off them my fibromyalgia has magically disappeared and has never come back.

Oh wow! I'm so glad the fibromyalgia went away! How long had you been on the meds? Was it challenging to withdraw?

I had read that it could be a side effect. I had such bad muscle pain that I ended up losing a job over it; sitting at a desk 8 hours was unbearable regardless of all the NSAIDs & muscle relaxers I was popping, and doing exercises per a physical therapist every day! Not once did my doctor indicate it could possibly be a side effect of the SSRI. And it didn't go away instantly when I quit the drug, but it got SIGNIFICANTLY better over time and I don't have to take stuff for pain every day anymore!

I was on the meds for years. It took several weeks for withdraw and shortly after the body pain ended.
