So recently I've been under some additional stress and my doctor decided to add Gabapentin into my cocktail of medications. Has anybody been on this medication before and how well did it work? It has been giving me horrible headaches but I'm trying to stick it out, cause I really need it to work.

I love gabapentin. I don’t get headaches. It is more pleasant than pain pills! I get a little (mild) buzz and they reduce my anxiety. Unfortunately, for the same reasons I can’t take them at work. I wait until I get off work.

Meds affect people differently for a ton of reasons. That said, I've been on gabapentin for almost a decade, and I have found it worthwhile.

hi. a lot of people swear by it. doses vary wildly. i only take 200mgs+/-, and then only at night, as a sleeping pill. Its works because I'm on other stuff, too.

Other people take 1800mgs+ daily, and they say it helps anxiety, agitation, etc.

I hope it helps, if your doctor prescribes it. There's also Lyrica. Its new, on patent, but...its more potent than gabapentin, and it only has be dosed 2x daily, instead of 3x daily for gabapentin.
