Things have been going downhill the last three weeks. I'm not really sure if it's connected (there were new situations as well that caused new anxiety for me) but I've also been starting taking Prozac three weeks ago when my GP prescribed it to me.

Has anyone had strongly increased anxiety after starting to take Prozac? I'm on 20 mg right now.

Every time I have a dosage increase I get increased anxiety and touches of depression....it's not unusual for the anxiety to increase as your body adjusts. Sometimes it can take up to a month or several weeks to get adjusted and it isn't helpful when things go downhill on top of everything. I'd stick it out for a couple more weeks and if it doesn't improve ask to be switched to another medication. Best of luck.
Thanks for this!

Yes Prozac is very activating, however I think after being on it for a while it seems to become more like agitation/hypomania. I’m still on the fence about staying on it or changing.

Yes, Prozac, Paxil, neither of those worked for me... made me agitated and tense. Lexapro was the answer for me... if it’s making you feel worse have the doctor change it.
