So the reason I have been switching my meds around is that I am going through a lapse in insurance and I needed some more affordable medications. For the last month I have been taking Risperdal since I knew it worked for me in the past and it is very affordable. However the side effects go a little out of hand, that is why I switched off it in the first place but I had hoped it would be fine for two months.
When I went to the doctor this week she wrote me trilafon instead as well as Cogentin because I have been getting really bad facial twitching. I had never even heard of trilafon before, which seemed weird because I am always researching different options. I did the whole google thing and apparently it is a really old med. I am supposed to start it tomorrow taking 4 mg in the morning and evening. Since it is in the cake family as thorazine I am wondering if that morning dose is going to knock my out. I took Thorazine years ago and it mostly just gave me a good nights sleep. Mostly I am concerned about the sedation effects, I read all the side effects it can have and most of them are standard for an antipsychotic. |
