Hi,
I am taking stimulants for chronic fatigue syndrome and treatment-resistant depression, which seems to be dopamine-based. It is possible that I have bipolar3/cyclothia. Can anyone describe side-effects from stimulants that would be considered “normal,” or just due to the dose being too high (eg euphoria) vs hypomania? I’ve never had hypomania, so I’m not sure. On a higher dose of stims, I did have: - good mood, positive outlook - quite talkative - very emotionally resilient (opposite to usual) - joking around a lot - extraverted (opposite) - insomnia, even til wee hours of the morning TBH, I feel like, besides the insomnia, this is how some lucky people are naturally! Thanks! |

I take a stimulant, but I also take a mood stabilizer, so I don't get any high feelings from it. I know for me though I do go hypomanic off some cough syrups and other uppers. So it's entirely possible you are experiencing hypomania. When in doubt, check with your doctor just in case. Good luck.
