Hello, i am Diagnosed with Anxious Depression for 6 years

-irritability, anger, hopelesness, feeling at the edge, nervousness, self abuse.

Been put on Fluoxetine 20mg for 9 weeks, at the week 5or6 depression lifted, but not the anxiety and insomnia (I have to take Lorazepam 1mg 1-1-1).

Previously i got an equilibrium of my anxiety and depression taking Fluoxetine 20mg one day, and next 10, and so on (20-10-20-10). The problem was that i tried to lower more the dose taking 20-10-10-10-20, and some weeks later i had a relapse, since mid october.

My reason is, taking into consideration my past expeirence with fluoxetine, what about trying Fluoxetine 20-10 alternately, i am afraid to cause a relapse, but i don't want to be on FLuoxetine 20mg having to take Lorazepam daily to control the anxiety and insomnia that gives me.

Any advices please, very welcome!
Hugs from:

Hello mixubcm: You know... we here on PC cannot advise you with regard to medication dosages. The vast majority of us, here on PC, are mental health consumers not professionals. Our purpose here is to provide one another with support & to share experiences & information. Your question is one that you need to discuss with your prescriber.

That said... I noticed this is your first post here on PC. So... welcome to PsychCentral! I hope you find the time you spend here to be of benefit. May I suggest you introduce yourself over on PC's New Member Introductions forum? Here's a link:

There's a lot of support that can be available here on PC. The more you post, & reply to other members' posts, the more a part of the community you will become. Plus there are the chat rooms where you'll be able to interact with other PC members in real time (once your first 5 posts have been reviewed & approved.) So please keep posting!
