I recently had to switch around my antipsychotic because I do not have health insurance for a couples months. Since latuda was out of the question I asked my doctor to write me resperdal since I took that for like two years before without having any real side effects. I don’t know if the side effects just didn’t bug me as much back then or if they hit sooner because I had been on it in the past. So, instead my doctor put me a trilafon, I have been on it a very short time, less than a week but I have noticed difficulty recalling information from within the previous couple days. Tonight I was getting something out of the fridge and found I had gone grocery shopping, I have no memory of this at all.
I am 29 so I seriously doubt it dementia related. Will it get better over time if I keep taking it, I remember having s lot of memory issues when my doctor put me on 450mg Wellbutrinif just took lowering the dose and my memory got back to normal. This is a major concern for me it isn’t just that it is annoying, and maybe a little freaky to find s fridge full of food you don’t remember buying. It mostly has m worried because I am startedibg my masters degree in January and I know I need to retain as much information as possible to do well |

This is not a common side effect for APs... it is more likely to happen with benzodiazepines, sleeping pills ("Z-drugs") and barbiturates. (not that barbs are used much anymore)
It exists though. Only experience I have with this is being so sedated by an AP that I do not remember getting up. I cannot say how long it will go on for and all those other questions, so please speak to your doctor.

I do take klonopin, but I have been on it several years and the only change made with that was about a year ago they took me from 3mg to 2mg. I was thinking it was on trilafon vice I just started it but maybe it is the Cogentin.

I started experiencing memory loss after starting Lithium six years ago. I do take an AP as well. But the first med I was started on was old faithful (Lithium).

I have that problem, too. But now as I'm getting older, it's worse.

Yes benzos are famous for causing memory issues. What dosage are you on? I'm curious why in the world your doctor would put you on a typical AP instead of an atypical one? Is your sz so bad that you need something that strong with so many side effects?
Lost lover, Go here , search your med of choice, and look at th prices for different pharmacies around you. www.goodrx.com I get my Geodon from there. it's suppose to be around $300, but with goodrx, i only have to pay about $55. Risperdal would be dirt cheap, Abilify would probably be around $90 because it's generic. There are other drugs than this one... |
