Well, I just spent 10 days in brain fog so thick I was disturbed and worried. I really could not think straight, couldn't plan ahead, couldn't focus, would forget what I'd gotten up to do after two seconds out of the chair, etc.
I finally figured out that it was very likely the combo of facts, I switched back to Zyprexa (olanzapine) temporarily a bit over a month ago, and then I increased my daily Zyrtec (cetirizine) from 10mg to 20mg - which has previously been approved by an allergist - about 2 weeks ago due to being in a highly allergenic environment. I cut the zyrtec back to 10mg a day and my brain is working a lot better although of course now I'm having allergies. This raises some unpleasant questions about how much 10mg a day is dulling my thinking without me noticing, at least when combined with Zyprexa, and maybe even by itself. It's also yet another strike against Zyprexa, which works amazingly well for stability for me, and inconsistently or not at all for anything else. Sigh. Back to the drawing board on the med search once I'm back from traveling in a couple weeks ... with 4.5 months to go until apocalyptic allergy season, and not much gain made in my psych med search yet. Anyway, I just wanted to post this here so that if anybody is searching on these meds, maybe they'll get the info.

I hope you can find an antihistamine that will work with the Zyprexa. I've taken Allegra and Clortimeton (sp?) with Abilify and they have been ok.
