I don’t do well on ssris/snris due to the agitation they cause (even some that are highly sedating it’s terrible being tired AND agitated ), are there antidepressants that don’t do this?

I had the same with SSRIs - but not with Mirtazipine - it also helped me sleep (but watch out for weight gain)

Why not ditch antidepressants all together. I can only take wellbutrin. Ssri's send me manic and so do snri's. They also agitate me and cause a lot of anxiety.

Wellbutrin is still an antidepressant, just an atypical one (as is Mirtazipine) - neither are SSRIs/SSNRIs

Yes wellbutrin is an anti depressant but it hits the dopamine receptors not the serontonin.

I know (well it does partly, it also acts more strongly on several other neurotransmitter receptors but just not serotonin)

All ssri's are liable to cause agitation and increase in anxiety at first, until its full therapeautic effect is felt, thats why doctors prescribe a benzo for short term when starting an ssri. #accordingtonami

I notice the tricyclics feel pretty chill. I’ve never taken them very long due to sedation though maybe I should stick it out.
