I noticed my psychiatrist took a small amount of money last year from its company, but he never mentioned it to me. Did your insurance company say why they won't cover Lunesta? It's FDA approved, even for long periods and it's generic. Is it because they won't cover controlled drugs? Because Belsomra is also controlled, plus it's only out in brand form--which is no doubt outrageously expensive.
The one thing I remember reading about Belsomra is that its manufacturers recommended a dose they thought was effective. The FDA thought the drug at that dose was not safe, so they approved it at half that. Which to me would mean it's only half effective. |

I tried it in the course of trying many sleep meds in the last couple of years. Not one of them, including Belsomra worked for me, but everyone is different. Can't hurt to give it a try.
