I stupidly took small overdoses of my risperidone a couple of times last week. It wasn't a su attempt, I just wanted to knock myself out. Now of course I'm out of pills, and can't get any more until my renewal date next Wed. My insurance absolutely refuses to let me renew anything early. I'm on a fairly high dose 5 mg, so I need to know what to expect in terms of withdrawal symptoms.

Any insight would be appreciated.

My experiences of withdrawal are from smaller amounts, but withdrawing with risperidone and other APs, I have generally suffered from anxiety and insomnia as well as some return of psychotic symptoms. Not always an increase in symptoms though.

I hope you don't get too much withdrawal symptoms.

Could you take a lower dose a few days so you have enough and don't have to go completely without? If that makes sense.

Thanks Loial, I had pretty bad insomnia last night, as well as problems with regulating my body temperature, and some GI upset. Of course I'm also detoxing from an episode of binge drinking as well, so it's a bit hard to tell what's what. I just hope the risperidone detox doesn't get much worse. Or it could be a very long few days.

LittleEarthquakes that would have been a good solution, but unfortunately I'm already out of pills, so just need to gut it out to Wed. I guess.

Well, I've had a horrible week. Haven't been able to concentrate to read or knit, even being on-line for more than a couple of minutes at a time is hard. My ears are blocked, I'm having hot and cold flashes, and GI symptoms. All I've basically done in the past week, is lie in bed and try and nap as much as possible. Fortunately I can get back on meds today. Hope it doesn't take too many days on them to feel normal again.
