I went off my Meds on my own without telling anyone. I am now feeling scared about what will happen to me. I am under commitment and I am court ordered to take them. I am feeling Ill and panicked. I am afraid to tell anyone. I know I should take them, but who do I tell? My case manager? The nurse who fills my pill box? I am feeling so ashamed.

I think either the case manager or the nurse would be a good person to start with. Which one is easer to talk to? Do you already have appointments set up? No reason to feel ashamed many people quit meds. Just be upfront about it and when you talk to them see if you can identify some reason you quit that could be worked on. Say they were too sedative maybe they can work with you to find less sedating drugs. If it's ambiguous maybe talking out loud with someone might help you identify a reason.

Depending on how long ago you quit them, perhaps getting back on would be a good idea. Can you ask your Dr? Did you slowly work up to your current dose or did they start you on your current dose? Also, some meds are worse to stop suddenly; do you know if you were taking one of those?

I took the pills today. I’m so emotional. I just keep crying. I hate myself and don’t know why I do these things. I feel so messed up.

Don't beat yourself up too bad. We have all done something similar that made us feel messed up.

We all make mistakes sometimes, and stopping meds is pretty common. Don't be too hard on yourself. You restarted the meds, that's the important point.

I agree with splitimage. We have all gone off at some point. Well, I would say that most of us have. I have even gone off without telling my doctor. Which i realize was a mistake because of the impact on my well being and that it is sometimes good to trust the professionals that have chosen said drug. Of course, it is acceptable to stop taken the in an instance that they cause extreme distress that outweighs the therapeutic effect.

I think that doctor probably titrated me slowly on my Meds. I am afraid to tell her about not taking them. I took them twice this week. I know that this will not help get them into my system, but I really don’t want to take them.

Thank you for asking. It feels good to have people give a s@** about me. I appreciate your concern. I’m pretty anxious lately.

I applaud rebellion against healthcare. Cheers Hazelgreen! I hate meds too. They suck!
