Has anyone’s doctor had a problem with you losing weight? Like they think it’s a problem and your only doing good when your heavy or gaining?

I felt like my doctor was like this. When I lost weight he wasn’t supportive and asked me why I wouldn’t try any new meds. It almost seemed like he didn’t want me to lose weight for some reason. I am 5’4 and I weighed 236 back then. So I really did need to lose a lot of weight.

Has anyone experienced this or something similar?

That sounds really weird. All my Dr's would be thrilled if I lost weight - currently working on it. It's my family Dr's #1 issue with me.

Don't let your Dr. put you off weightloss, being a healthy weight is really important for your overall health.

I would think if he objects then he is objecting to your method. Also weight loss without immediate cause (like diet or exercise) is concerning as it can indicate serious illness. The other thing I can imagine is if he thinks the drugs he wants you to try are important to your health but you are rejecting them solely on their purported effects on weight. (Not that that's not a fair concern on your part, just that it could be less important than controlling your mental health.

Those are just guesses, of courses; otherwise I can't think of a reason. Ask him.
Thanks for this!

That sounds odd. I put on 30 lbs while taking Zyprexa. I asked my doc to switch me to something else and she suggested latuda. I’ve lost all my weight and my doc is very supportive and complimentary. Maybe he is worried about how you are losing the weight.

I agree. It's likely how (why) you are losing weight. My doc wants me to lose weight!

I agree with wonder falls. Also aren't you losing weight rather quickly? That's another concern of doctors.
