Hello,
Has anyone given Zoloft a go? I'm worried about how Zoloft will impact my mind and body. Starting later this week, I will take Zoloft in the morning, and Abilify at night to hopefully relieve some MDD/GAD symptoms. I was on Paxil/Abilify, then Pristiq/Abilify, and now Zoloft/Abilify. I'm just honestly incredibly frustrated with trying to find the right medication(s) for me. ![]() I'm not really sure what my question is, other than, what should a first-time Zoloft taker perhaps expect? Thank you for your time. ![]() |

hi. i think it depends on your problems, dosage, etc. personally, id say...watch the dose. my dose kept creeping upwards (obsessive stuff going on...docs often go for higher doses...), and that resulted in: weight gain, apathy, mood instability. and yet...
some people swear by the stuff. I might, too, if the doc hadn't maxed out the dosage. oh, and a good note...my current psychiatrist tells me that Abilify not only helps antidepressants "work better," but abilify+an antidepressant often results in a faster response than just an antidepressant alone. maybe that'll happen for you? good luck to you. |

I was on Zoloft when I was 7 and had no issues. I took it again last year for a few months but had to go off it since it made me manic. Interesting how the same med had a different affect on me at different points in my life. I didn't have any other side effects. It's hard to say what to expect since every person responds to medications differently.

It depends
My experience is that the first few weeks I was worse than it just stopped working. I would encourage you to try it . If it doesn’t work for you, maybe you could switch to another antidepressant class like SNRI Or TCA or MAOI or an atypical antidepressant ![]() Hope you get better |

Thank you to all. So far, it's been a bit useful. I'll keep monitoring how I feel over the next few weeks.
