Follow my thread Getting off Ambien. I try to update daily.

I have taken Ambien, Xanax, Melatonin, cyclobenzaprine, trazodone-all for sleep.
For me, getting off those meds (and others) has meant a slow reduction. I read elsewhere that trying to stop too quickly can make the "discontinuation syndrome" (I think they should just call it withdrawal) worse. And, I think it works better to go off one at a time than to try to go off them simultaneously. I decided which med I wanted off the most and started with that. Some people find that they have to use other meds during their taper; something along the lines of benadryl can help you get over the hump of quitting. |
