I've been on Prozac for about 4 months now. I increased my dose from 10-20 mg about 3 weeks ago. But I have honestly gotten worse the past week or two. So I think that means that I may have to change or add something. I don't know. I hate how it seems like no med works for me long-term. I see my pdoc on Monday.

Prozac can be taken higher than 20mg. I responded to 30mg but had hypomania.

Talk it over with your pdoc & tell them how things seem to have worsened. As cool09 wrote, you may have room to increase the dose, or alternatively, step it back to 10mg or 15mg. It may also be worth continuing at 20mg for a while & seeing if things stabilize - when I went from 20mg to 40mg, there was a period about 5 weeks in, where I felt the depression rising again, which worried me until I realized that I was probably only feeling that because it had lowered to a point where I could sense the variation. That feeling went away after a few further weeks.
Thanks for this!

I realize that a higher dose may be needed. I just know for me that generally speaking a lower dose works best for me, as I am very sensitive to medications.

I still didn't feel good on 10 mg, and it's just gotten worse on 20 mg. I had to miss a midterm in school because of my depression worsening.

I'll see what my pdoc suggests. She did mention that if this one worked, then I would see her in a month, but if it didn't we would add something, so that may just be the case.

Thank you for all your responses.
