I have found the worst cravings happen with Seroquel. That said, I have been on around 30 other psych meds over many years (including Traz) and I find that most of the meds cause cravings for sugar. At least, they do for me.

Nothing makes you crave carbs and sugar more than seroquel. Zyprexa is a close second.

Zyprexa (after clozapine) is supposed to be the worst for weight gain. Seroquel is horrible for carbs and sugar craving. You don't just crave it, you never feel like you can get enough. Trazadone has never done much of anything for me, including affecting my appetite.
Thanks for this!

Wonderfalls reminded me - I forgot to mention that Trazadone never helped me, either. In fact, I had a weird allergic reaction to it ("allergy" was the actual word my pdoc used). I took the prescribed dose and had what felt like an overdose, even though it was not an overdose, at all. I saw flashing lights and felt like I was going to pass out. I had to somewhat struggle to breathe properly. It was horribly frightening.

Anyway, I am quite sure my reaction was unusual, because I know that Trazadone really helps some people.

And I agree that the hunger cravings with Seroquel are voracious, like I was starving and felt unwell if I didn't eat. It reminded me of being pregnant, that kind of hungry feeling.

I had my last appointment with this new pdoc, and you guys wont believe the level of stupidity and misinformation that flowed out of her mouth with every word she said. So ive been having binge eating problems at night right after i take my 50 mg seroquel. and her brilliant diagnoses and solution was, " 50 mg is too low of a dose to affect appetite, let alone cause someone to binge eat", i mentioned PC and anecdotes of numerous people ive came across on PC having exactly this same issue at exactly the same dose, so she goes, THAT ( visiting PC forums) is what is causing me to binge eat. she says i read how other people are over eating on serouel and i manifest the symptoms in myself as a result. She goes you gotta stop visiting PC for good. I said doc, i only visit once a month maybe for nomore than a minute or 2 max, and it helps me to be with people who are going through similar , sometimes more challenging phases of life. I said PC makes me feel like im not alone and watching others not give up and reach out to each other for help and support and it just inspires me. Then she goes says this with dripping sarcasm that , okay SO WHAT, you just get inspired in 1 minute?? Really?? I try to tell her how lonely it can be living with mental illness, the sane world just cant understand what we go through, the hell we live through day after day, she just looked at me like i'm talking nonsense, She goes, REALLY? NO ONE UNDERSTANDS YOU, not your parents, not your doctors, not your friends????

Sarcastic b#tch! All i got from her in that meeting was cruel merciless sledge heaps of sarcasm.

Apparently she was absent from med school during good communication with patient lecture.

Just 25 mg of Seroquel makes me want to go down to the kitchen and eat. It hits within a half hour.

My doc that orginally prescribed it said it doesn’t cause weight gain.

I’ve stopped taking it, but I’m keeping some in case I have insomnia. I only used it for sleep. Not worth it.

Yes, I was literally insatiable. I felt that I would eat sugar and carbs until they ran out. At some point in my second (and maybe my first?) Seroquel ordeal that went away. When I left Seroquel the second time, for joint pain, I had lost weight.
