i take 2 tylenol and 4 ibuprophen as an adjunct to my pain med. i have found little to no relief.
for muscle spasms, magnesium is supposed to help. i am not sure how much is optimal. i will tell you that if you take too much it causes a nasty case of diahrea (sp?). Believe me, I found out the hard way. I took it when I had Fibromyalgia but it didn't work.... but then, neither did the many prescribed muscle relaxants. i hope this helps and good luck. |

Hello DD. In my worst pain I use Aleve or generic Aleve, and MSM (a sulfer based drug). It seems to work everytime and you only have to take 1-2 tablets. In my worst pain years ago, I took Percogesic and it works Great but it is rather expensive. Depending on your mental health diagnostics, I would consult a pharmacist or Dr before taking something over the counter, which may interfere with your medication you are taking at this time. Take care (((DD))). I hope things get better for you soon. Soidhonia

I have chronic pain and have yet to find an OTC me strong enough to help. I see a pain specialist for Rx's that are opiates to help manage my pain. People used to judge and chide me for using them. I really felt ashamed and guilty. Finally, I decided that unless these people walked a mile in my shoes, they have not business pasing judgement on me. Now, I oonsider the opiates as a tool to use for pain relief. As a side note, I took higer doses of Vicoden for over 2.5 years and methadone for well over a year, and Suboxone for over a year. I have never been addicted to any of them and had absolutely no problems when discontinuing their use.
Take Care, Peacemaker |
