I've been on a low starting dose of Gabapentin for 2 weeks. I'm having that pretty extreme dizzy sensation that is common with this med. My question is, does the dizziness eventually subside? Thank you.

Hi *Laurie* I am not sure how long they last. Extreme dizziness sounds like a bad side affect. I would call your pharmacist and or pdoc right away.

Here is the list of side affects

it...might. LOL. really helpful, I know.

I did better on low doses of gabapentin vs the 900mgs/day starting dose. I don't know what that's about. Other than that...

as always, see if you can talk to your shrink. :-)

Thanks to each of you. The dizziness occurs only when I first awaken. It subsides after that, at least at this point. I do feel a little "off" in my head, like a slightly off balance sensation, but I'm hoping that goes away.

I remember that when I first took Seroquel, when it kicked in, I absolutely had to lie down. I would become horribly dizzy otherwise. That subsided after a few weeks, though.

Hmm. This morning, no dizziness. I guess my body just had to get used to the higher dose.

I have used Gabapentin and had to migrate up slowly because it created really ",heady" add use effects and made me feel weak and physically unstable.
