I am taking Belsomra for insomnia. I was on 15 mg last night and didn’t fall asleep until 6:30 this morning. I will be increasing to the max 20 mg tonight. Ambien and lunesta don’t work for me.
Anyone have success with Belsomra? |

I dont have any experience with Belsomra or Lunesta, however I have taken Ambien and Rozerem. Ambien was too sedating, even at a low dose of 8 mg. Rozerem did work for me as it was not sedating however, it did take about 5 or 6 days to start working. It is not like Ambien where it knocks you out or sedates you, it retrains your brain to fall asleep so that is why it takes a few days to work.
Have you tried any over the counter supplements? Unisom/Sominex/ZQuil are some that are sedating and Melatonin is an all natural supplement that has worked for me. Make sure you get a brand name like Nature Made or Natures Bounty. Make sure you get a minimum of 5 mg and take it 3 to 4 hours BEFORE you want to be in bed, that way it has time to get into your system as melatonin peaks right around 4 to 5 hours. |

I have taken up to 10mg of Melatonin but it never worked for me. In the hospital they would give me Benadryl in the middle of the night when I would wake up.
Never tried Rozerem. |
