So after just over a month from switching from Paxil to Prozac I’ve ruled that It is not helping with my anxiety, and is giving me some very strange thoughts. My dr prescribed 100mg Zoloft and said to switch over night. Has anyone switched from Prozac to Zoloft? And suggestions, prior exp, words of wisdom greatly appreciated.

They are in the same category of anti-depressants: SSRI (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor). Paxil is an SSRI, too. They make the neurotransmitter Serotonin stay in your brain longer so you have more available. I don't know what Zoloft side effects are.

I have not made that switch, but I am on zoloft. From personal experience zoloft is a hard drug to adjust to. I had stomach issues for months (gone now) and it took a while to kick in.

I also did an over night switch, but in hospital. I went from cipralex to 200 zoloft all at once.

Years ago I tried Prozac. Which had me climbing the walls. Then went to Zoloft which worked for 6-7 years.
