|
I have heard that many generic of the ad buprophine , Wellbutrin do not work wel. The name brand does but is expensive. Anyone have suggestions for a workable generic?

Hello Gbeasley: I noticed this is your first post, here on PC. So... welcome to PsychCentral!
 I hope you find PC to be of benefit.  I'm sorry I don't have the answer to your question. My impression is that med's work so differently for different people that it's pretty-much not possible to draw any kind of general conclusions with regard to how they work. I'm no longer on any kind of medications. The last one I took was Cymbalta. I started out on the name brand med & then switched to the generic when it became available. I never noticed any difference.

The generic of Wellbutrin has worked well for many peop!e I know. My insurance does not cover brand at all if there is a generic available. Generic brands change at pharmacies. This is especially true of mail order.

My understanding was that this was true when the generic first came out many (10?) years ago, but then they fixed it. I havent heard if it was happening again.

One psychiatrist told me that when generics first come out, they aren't to be trusted, but they are improved and are just as good as the original drug at some point, so I think that's true with the Wellbutrin generics as well.
