At first Cymbalta didn't help with my depression. But now it helps on and off.

Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Honestly wish it was more stable.

So far I have no side effects from it.

It doesn't help with my anxiety. I take Ativan for anxiety.

Chronic pain I wouldn't know as I don't have that.

It worked well at first but then made me quite foggy and irritable. Also there is a lot of guidance on the withdrawl effects and how hard it is to stop. Please read about that first before trying. I am not trying to put you off of it but in the event it does not work just make sure you titrate correctly. Most doctors will say it is fine to just stop but it isnt. The way you have to do it is literally count the beads inside of each capsule and slowly decrease them each week. Hopefully it works for you and you dont need to go through that though unfortunately you dont know uh nless you try. I am on Lyrica now for chronic pain and lamictal which work well but everyone is different. Hope it works for you
Thanks for this!

I've it been on 80 mgs for six months at most after a few years of Effexor XR 225-300 mg. I'd say it does an okay job with depression, but I don't notice much with my social anxiety. Pretty much like Effexor.

I take it for pain and the first thing I noticed when I started it was I was more willing to get up and out, so it must help with my depression, too.

I have taken Cymbalta for years with very good effect for depression. No side effects.
