I have been on Risperdal for about a year now and it works very well. I know it is an older drug so I don’t see it much on these forums. I would be interested to hear from anyone else who is on Risperdal.

I’ve been on 2mg for about 14 months. It has worked ok, made the voices in my head quieter. I am showing signs of Tardive Dyskinesia, I am going to talk to my psychiatrist about it next Fri. I hope it is good for you, too. : )

I've been on it since around 2000, I don't remember exactly when I started it. It's been a great med for me. My only complaint is it makes me lactate, and it really screwed up my periods.

I was on Invega Sustenna which is related chemically to risperdal, max dose. It worked great for like 5 years but then I started having signs of TD and had gained a massive amount of weight so had to get off

I've been on risperidone since my last inpatient bout. In 2016. I think this screwy nursing home lowered my dose - I probably need more but my left hand and fingers can never rest, they're always shaking when I try to hold them straight.

My son has been using it - it replaced the seroquel which had replaced the abilify.

He's taking 1 1/2mg spread out over several doses.

I canna say I see any effect at all, though its just been three weeks since he started.

It didn’t work for me.

I know someone who was very underweight from an eating disorder and then went on Risperdal. In 33 days she gained 40 or 50 pounds and is now obese and the weight hasn’t dropped. She was pretty much starving herself with the ED. So I guess a combination of the ED and then the Risperdal caused her metabolism to crap out.
