Good day! I am brand new to this site. My daughter was diagnosed bipolar 3 weeks ago. She has already tried Geodon, but it made her impossibly sleepy. She is to start Vraylar tomorrow. Do those who have taken Vraylar suggest taking it in the morning or at night? She has college classes in the mornings and work some nights. I don’t want her to be sedated. However, it seems on the Geodon that the anti-manic effects wear off in the evenings before the next dose. Is Vraylar sedating, or do you think she could take it in the mornings?

Hello, I take vraylar, my doctor told me to take it in the mornings, I haven't had any problems with it and it's been extremely helpful

Thank you, Blue_Bird! She started Vraylar this morning and got really nauseous. Otherwise, she is handling it well. It has not made her sleepy like the Geodon did, and her mania is under control. Looks like we will ride this one out and pray that the nausea subsides.

I experienced nausea right after taking it in the morning for about the first week but it eventually went away. Hope it works out

I was on it for a little while (had to switch, it was too expensive for me). I found Vraylar to be VERY activating, and I could only take it in the morning.
