Are there online pharmacies that have virtual doctors that write prescriptions?

I am seeking fluoxetine. I was on it for 10 years with no problem, but my new doctor isn’t comfortable prescribing it with lithium — despite the fact that this combo has worked great for a decade. Ever since she took me off, I’ve been having problems. We have tried 4 other meds, but they didn’t work. She is all, “well, we tried, guess you have to deal.” I’ve asked for the fluoxetine, and she just maintains that research suggests it’s not effective.

I am in the VA system, so I can’t get another psychiatrist unless I drive 2 hours to the next closest city.

Are there online places that have doctors who write prescriptions? Even if there are, they will see I’m prescribed lithium by a pdoc and then not be comfortable overriding that, probably. This is so frustrating.

My understanding is that Canada does but I am not 100% sure how that would work.

do you have insurance coverage that will work with local, non-va clinics and such? Just asking because...I live in a semi-rural area, and one local health chain (they own a hospital, several family practices, etc.) has started doing online check-ups for relatively minor stuff. I think the prescriptions get sent over to your pharmacy, no big thing...

could you do that? and...sorry. i cannot stand it when psych docs power trip for no really good reason. i would say try your local public/community health clinic, but...that comes with pitfalls, too. they like to put everybody on high dose antipsychotics, for one thing. :-(

again, sorry about all this. i do hope things get better for you.

Would it be possible to get a primary care doc to prescribe the fluoxetine?

I don't know anything about online pharmacies.
