Does anybody have any suggestions for what to do about shaking hands as a medication side effect? I really don't want to stop taking my current meds or lower the dosage since this combination is actually working finally. I can't tell if my coordination is a little off too, or it's just that the shaking is so bad. I can't take benzos or beta blockers like propranolol.

Is it that you can't take any beta blockers whatsoever? That was going to be my first suggestion.
If you use any caffeine, cutting that out might help. Other than that, all I can think of is trying to treat the problems it causes rather than the shaking itself. My hands are steadier now because of beta blockers, but early in my training/work I had to learn a lot of tricks to compensate for my shaky hands when doing precision work. I wasn't quite as fast as people with steady hands, but I learned to make it work for most things. |

I also have really severe breathing problems and beta blockers interfere with that medication, so I can't take any at all. Thanks though. I guess I'll just have to learn to find other ways to do things.

I had this on SSRIs and it’s recently come back even though I’ve stopped them. I was on pregabalin anyway for nerve pain and increasing the dose by a small amount has stopped the tremor. Could be worth a try?

I was going to suggest beta blockers the moment I saw your post title, but see you can't take them. I'm sure there are other suggestions that people can offer. Hold tight.

Yes, honestly, what has helped me is 800 IU of vitamin E every day. I'm not saying it will necessarily help your tremor. However, it might be worth discussing with your doctor. The only strange thing is, after taking that dose of vitamin E for a while, I developed a weird rash on my hands. I don't know if it's related or not, but I figure that I'd rather have a rash than shaking hands. I am also seeing a dermatologist about it soon.

Lithium gave me a very noticeable hand tremor. Nothing help it so I decided it was time to quit and also because I really need my thyroid and kidneys to be safe
