What is your dosage for Abilify?
I am just curious as to how much Abilify everyone is taking? I am currently on 15 mg, but felt that a higher dose can enhance mental state. To elaborate, help me make better decisions and not kept thinking about my fantasy of " making it big". Though I am functional and can concentrate pretty good, no major delusions, I feel like I have issue with staying realistic. For example, I am a certified teacher with a masters degree, but I kept on aspiring to be some higher paid folks, like be a famous author. I think people think I am unrealistic and I was adamant that they are just not nurturing an ambition like I am. I am already seeing a shift in my thinking after taking a higher dose. Anyone experiencing the same thing? |

i was on 20. adding Prozac raised blood levels and i had/have a tremor. now, im down to 15. my goal would be 10, or even less, with the prozac on board.
higher levels=anti-manic, anti-agitation, but also kinda...numbing, flattening, typical tranq stuff....just easier to tolerate, for me. the safest way to go is the lowest effective dose, which may vary over time, depending on psychosocial stressors, etc. :-) |

I have just started taking Abilify this week, was on 5mg and started on 10mg. last night. I expect that my pdoc will raise the dose soon. So far I haven't noticed any change, but it's been only 4 days at the low doses.

So I've been taking the 10mg for a few days now and I am noticing a positive change. My mind is quieter, more rational (to an extent), and I feel somewhat more stable.
I expect my pdoc to raise the dose this week. I'm hoping for 15mg., possibly 20mg. after a couple of weeks. btw, I do have an annoying hand tremor, but I have that from all psych meds. __________________ |

my psychiatrist informed me that some antidepressants increase blood levels of Abilify. i was on 20, now im going to 15 because of that...its up to you and the psychiatrist, but --personally-- id see about what kind of drug-drug interactions you're looking at before you got 20. Abilify is odd because it has only been extensively studied up to 30mgs/day. if one takes more than that (or gets the equivalent, thru drug-drug interactions), then...
the patient/person is kind of in uncharted territory. :-( |
