Hello, I am new here so I apologize if this has been asked. My Psychiatrist is taking me off of Risperidone because I have developed heart problems and that is one of the long term side effects. I have been on it for over 15 years. He cut the dose in have for two weeks which was up yesterday so I am no longer on that medication. He wants to see how I do without it before starting me on something else. Since the reduction I have not had any of the symptoms I used to have but I have been dizzy, and nauseated. About how long does the withdrawal symptoms last?
My psychiatrist is on vacation and I could not find anything online.
I am actually hoping to not have to go on anything else at this time because of the new heart problem now. Apparently I have a arrhythmia.
Thank you in advance
Hugs from:

I've never cone off it completely but have dropped my dose a couple of times, and get the dizziness and nausea you mention. I find it usually lasts 3-5 days, but everyone is different.

Hopefully your heart problems will go away, now that you're no longer on it.

I had some nausea coming off it, but it only lasted a few days. Sending you positive vibes!
