Does anyone have any experience with mirtazipine? I just started taking it. Took my 1st does, 7.5 mg, last night and now I feel so tired. I can not shake this grogginess. Does your body ever adjust? At this point it's not worth it.

I was so tired this morning I could not wake up. I was falling asleep eating my breakfast.

I went all the way up to 30mg....It didn't help much with sleep the only side effect was increased appetite. I did not feel groggy the next day. Good luck with it and I hope you feel better.

So, rumor has it that the grogginess gets better as the dose increases (confirm this with your doctor). I take 45 mg at night and while it helps me sleep, I don't wake up groggy.

I went up to 45 mg. No effect on general psychiatric symptoms. Did help sleep. Eventually discontinued on the advice of new psychiatrist. Don't miss it.

Is this being used for sleep or its antidepressant properties?

Antidepressants. I took 1/4 of a pill last night and don't feel as groggy now. I was tired all day yesterday and that just sucked. It was not worth it.
