I would like to know if anyone reading this has had agitation/irritability/aggression while taking Risperidone. I started on it a couple of weeks back, and it has helped quiet my mind, but I have been very agitated and easily set off this past week.

So, is this a common side-effect of the medication? If find it listed as a side-effect on some sites, but not on others.

I haven't experienced this with Risperidone, if anything for me it's slightly sedative. But everyone reacts differently to meds, so your reaction is totally possible for the med. It may wear off, once your body is used to the med.

It was just the opposite for me--made me sleepy and groggy.

Calms me and slows my thinking. Only time I have any agitation or anger is if coming off it.
