Has this happened to anyone else? I had to switch from Walmart to Walgreens because of my insurance. The Walmart visteral didn’t make me tired but it made me eat everything in site. I got the Walgreens one filled and I took one and I don’t want to eat at all and it makes me pretty drowsy.
Is it common for generics to be this different? I know I saw something on The Today show awhile ago about generics. As for my anxiety, the Walmart version decimated it while with the Walgreens version the anxiety is for sure still there....

Hi Mountaindewed,
For the most part, generics are usually without this problem, but because of difference in manufacturing and non active ingredients, there can be reactions. I saw a video a while ago by a psychiatrist on YouTube who discusses this- I'll link it here:

Not with the medication that you’re on, but I’ve found differences in different generic manufacturers of Xanax. Some have quick onset while others take longer. I had one manufacture that seemed like there was no active ingredient in it.
Genetics are supposed to have the same amount of medication as the brand name. The fillers can be different, and I think that may be where the perceived difference is. YMMV and I’m not a healthcare professional so take my experience for what it’s worth.

At this point I’m thinking of just going to Walmart and paying more for my visteral and Xanax. It’s worth the extra money to not feel like total ****. I took 3 Xanax and the visteral and things are still a bit iffy. For no reason either. I don’t even work until Thursday which is one of main sources of anxiety.

I know ,I hate when I see a different # on my pill. Even though the pharmacist screamed at me it was just another brand/pharma company. I grudgingly used them anyway and wow! It fricking worked. Magic, the Oak ,Druids and I

I was on Xanax or Kalma. Anyway I got switched to the other one. I couldn't work out why I was crying so much. Switched back to the first one and the tears stopped.

I always get the same Provigil from the same pharmacy. One month, they gave me a totally different bottle, totally different pills. Definitely a less effective medication. No question about it. Next month, back to the original, and everything is gravy.

My experience was with Zoloft. I switched from brand named to generic and my depressive symptoms returned, I didn't get a relief for few weeks then discontinued.
