I am new to this site! I came on looking for info on Latuda withdrawals. I was put on it 4 months ago. 20 mg. For depression. The 1st month was great . I felt better. Now August to Dec. I cant get out of bed barely. I have no desire to do anything! I dont want to work anymore or anything i enjoyed. I met a new nurse who is prescribing for me. She increased me to 40 mg. In 2 days i was floored in depression. Which tells me it was the Latuda! So i called and she said come off it. She is new though. She said 2 days go to 20 mg. Then stop?! I want done with this drug! It has robbed 4 montha of my life! Will i get sick if i just stop after this taper? Should i cut them? Taper off every other day? Or should i do my usual she-woman and push my stubborn way off this med! Its been awful for me!! Bad thoughts.. low mood, crying spells, all in the last 4 months. Turns out after research, latuda stops and blocks your dopamine.. so you get no ability to feel up. I'm sorry.. i wanna be happy.. no a robot

Sorry you're going through this. This is why I want to manage bipolar without meds. I'm trying to get off Seroquil but can't sleep without it and the dr. won't give me a smaller dose. Meeting a new psychiatrist tomorrow and hoping for the best. I hope you can wean off of it.

I just started Latuda and I'm on 40 mg. My doctor said 20 mg was like a kiddie dose so if your doctor said to go to 20's and then step I think you should be fine. You can always ask a pharmacist too what they think.

Look up Lautda and it's half life and then reduction by half each half life. Do you not know how to reduce your meds and certainly your pdoc or your practitioner should know unless your flying solo?
And if that's your case use pubmed, google scholar or just web md . Learn it.
