Hey guys.
Long story short...
I was dealing with depression for over a year now. Even though i cried a lot for the most part i was fine until i took delta 8 thc oil that totally screwed me up. Another words i had constant fear inside of me, anxiety, panic attacks, dizziness, shortness of breath, i could feel my brain, i didnt feel myself etc.
I went to ER and blood work was fine.
I was diagnosed with schizotypal personality disorder on top of anxiett disorder and major depressive disorder. I was for 2 weeks with my family in Florida abd for the most part i was fine. When we came back w days ago i started to feel worried again, anxious, problems with sleeping.

If i go back to ER im scheduled to get on lorazepam 1mg. I read about it and you know opinions are mixed and in worried that i may get worse... just trying to be positive but im worried about meds. What do you guys think..

The depression is worrying. The lorazepam helps immediately with only anxiety and is a short term treatment. I would at least ask about a long term treatment plan and therapy.

Usually for depression and anxiety a mix of medications and therapy is suggested. There are many different types. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is pretty popular. I don't really like it but a lot of people do and find it very effective. But there are way more kinds of therapy. Do you have insurance? You can ask your insurance company to give you a list of therapists (or look online at like Psychology.com--I think they have a list) and just try a couple out and see if you click. I'm with @The Black Dog about the lorazepam. I'm surprised they are not offering an anti-depressant. But if you are just getting treatment at the ER they tend to do short term stuff. Do you have a GP or a PCP? You can start there although really I suggest a psychiatrist because they know their stuff. Your GP or psychiatrist should be able to give you a list of referrals to therapists also. My PCP wouldn't even treat me without a psych consult, although she did initially give me an antidepressant to start something to help me.. That's how I eventually found the psychiatrist I'm with.

Bentos are not the answer but DBT is the gold standard for personality disorders. It requires hard work on your part but it works. You can ask about long term effective dialectal behavior therapy. They are just getting rid of you by offering an addictive drug that does seem to help in the short term but long term causes more problems. Learning coping skill is a much better more effective therapy.

Based upon the symptoms you've described I believe an antidepressant could really help you. If you can do therapy too, that would be so helpful.

I wouldn't go for lorazepam if they expect you to take it every day. It works better PRN and the less it's used, the better. It's addictive and easy to build a dependence on, and withdrawals suck at best and are life threatening at worst. Like other posters said, psychotherapy and an antidepressant would probably be a better treatment option, but what do I know, I'm no doc.
